Marjorie Kouns is a Film, Television, Voice Actor, and Public Artist known for her television co-starring role of Mrs. Sibley on 'Salem' (WGN/America) and in film as Winona Ryder's Aunt Rochelle in 'The Iceman' with Michael Shannon, along with her character voices on
Dora the Explorer and the voices of political pundit Ann Coulter, and Sarah Palin.
For over ten years she’s voiced numerous radio and television commercials, including telephony (on-hold messaging).
Her clients include: Spokenlayer.com, Spanish TIME for Kids, TIME, Forbes, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Ozy.com, Centerpoint Energy, MiamiBeach411.com, Dun & Bradstreet-Power Profiles, Children’s Hospital Boston, as well as the voices of both
Olive Oyl (Popeye) and Lois Lane (Superman) in the Fleischer Cartoon digital remix series. She’s also the Voice of God (live announcer) for: Pratt Commencement at both Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Theatre, Radio Ink Hispanic Radio Conference Awards – Medallas de Cortez, Cinco de Mayo Festivals, MarketAmerica and Shop.com national and international conferences, and the renowned New York City Marathon.
Marjorie’s ear for music started out when she was young. She studied flute for ten years and found that the elements of music were similar to the tones of her numerous languages that she speaks today. While fluent in Spanish, she also speaks Mandarin, French, Italian, and even a little Greek in her unique “American Tourist Dialect”.
She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, Book Pals (SAG-AFTRA Foundation), New York Women in Film and Television, Louisiana Film and Entertainment Association (LFEA), and New Orleans Film Society. Her worldwide public art projects include Body As Canvas, and Shades of Shreveport. She practices Qi Gong, T'ai Chi Chuan, and Argentine Tango.
On a personal note: Marjorie grew up with two older brothers in Melrose Park, IL along with her mother of Greek heritage and love of languages, and social dancing, who partnered with a father who exemplified service through his love of parks and recreation.
